Aims

  • Harness a shared passion for the fulldome medium to advocate the creative, artistic and cultural development of the immersive fulldome experience.
  • Facilitate fulldome knowledge exchange through creative practice, dissemination and partnership. 
  • Increase the number of creative practitioners working in the medium, and encourage cultural distribution to broader audiences.
  • Create opportunities to examine, expand and articulate the artistic principles and communicative potential of the fulldome medium.
  • Support fulldome creative community to develop fulldome as a sustainable and profitable cultural entertainment medium, that is attractive to future investment.

Objectives

Research

  • Undertake practice-based and theoretical research to examine, expand and articulate the creative, artistic and cultural potential of the fulldome medium.
  • Encourage in-depth experimentation and creative practice to produce innovative content and identify, develop and articulate the visual language, artistic framework and communicative potential of the fulldome medium. 
  • Provide evidence of the fulldome medium as an unique artistic and cultural media experience through a variety of academic and public-facing research publications.

Promotion

  • Develop expanded production, exhibition and distribution pathways for a broad range of innovative artistic and cultural fulldome programming.
  • Actively promote the fulldome medium as a creative, artistic and cultural experience through public facing events, screenings and festivals.
  • Establish a network of fulldome venues to facilitate creative production and enable shared distribution and presentation of innovative artistic fulldome content.

Production

  • Support the creation of new artistic, narrative, performative, documentary, real-time, interactive and hybrid fulldome content.
  • Increase the number of creative practitioners working in the medium to expand the range and quality of innovative cultural content available for fulldome venues.
  • Provide ongoing mentoring and knowledge exchange schemes for established and emerging fulldome artists to support technical and creative production processes.

Partnership

  • Develop partnerships across industry, academia and cultural sectors to facilitate and support creative fulldome research, innovative content creation and knowledge exchange.
  • Serve as a collective creative voice within the fulldome sector and across the broader field of immersive media arts and culture.
  • Provide evidence of the commercial viability and sustainability of cultural fulldome programming. 
  • Work with existing fulldome organisations to articulate technical production standards for the fulldome medium.
