Sous Dome #3 round-up

The third edition of Sous Dome festival took palce at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie (CSI) in Paris on 21-23 March.

The festival is a partnership between the CSI, arts organisation 36 degrés, and artist Jérémy Oury, and has a focus on French artists while also inviting international contributors. This year’s programme included three screening blocks of short fulldome films spanning different genres and methods of production, showcasing the possibilities of fulldome filmmaking. Each programming block was shown multiple times during the festival, and each evening also featured a live musical performance created specifically for the dome.

These screenings and performances at the CSI’s planetarium were the public-facing offering of the festival, but there was also a burgeoning industry and networking element.

Artists from France and some international artists gave presentations about their work and took part in roundtable discussions, and there were networking opportunities hosted by the festival such as a dinner on the first night, and gatherings at the Boom Boom Villette food market on-site at the CSI.
